Windows looking to Douro River and Gaia.
Where Douro River meets the ocean.
ps:As you already noticed i have been short on words lately, the reason is just to keep this place fun to me every day(automatically to you) and now i prefer to talk only with images.
New conquers at Castelo do queijo.
Another kind of people i don't understand, why do they want to get the same color of the rocks?
...for company.
In the morning i'm going for another mini holidays in Douro Valley and the starting point will be in one of the most amazing stations in Portugal, São Bento Station. My journey will end at Pocinho Station, last week i made this by car and maybe next time would be in a boat.
ps:I forgot to thanks to my friend Arlindo who posted last weekend and will push the button again today.
Facade made with small portions of the sky at PraÇa dos Leões
Street lamps from Aliados Av. on another very quiet august night where only tourists give life to downtown, and me of course:-D
In our main subway station this light game invite you to follow him.
I will never understand these people.
Some time ago i was waiting in my car for a green light at Jardim da Arca d´Agua and remembered i need to buy some socks then i look to my left and they appeared from the sky!
...again from Jardins do Palácio de Cristal.
So..., be honest, what kind of fish you are, more to the left or to the right?
I start and say i'm the fish with the camera, not the voyeur type but the one who tries to understand the chain which means get a place in the middle.
ps:This is another graffiti from a reasonable place. I refuse to publish graffiti from public buildings, monuments, etc...
I don't know how many times i started or ended my travels by train in this station, my favourite transport. Stations are emotional places for thousands, every day people pass through here from crying to full happiness.
"Almost at the extremity of the Ribeira wall, a bas-relief by the sculptor Teixeira Lopes recalls to memory the death of hundreds of people that occurred when the Barcas Bridge collapsed under the weight of those trying to escape the invading French army led by General Soult. The local population keeps candles burning as a memorial of the tragedy."

Forgot to say this was in 1809.
There is always some reason in every walk we do and without knowing we are conducted to special places, this one is in Serralves Gardens.
This kids were playing with water and their mom didn't like it but with this weather who can condemn them?!
I love this birds, they are elegant in every move they made and this one in particular was amazing because she didn't fly away with me approaching, with my little 3X zoom i had to be very close for a decent photo and this bird didn't bothered to fly away.
See how was my date with her.
This new garbage separation centers are much better then the big old colored ones, illness people or with disabilities have more conditions to use this.
Boat family in Douro River.
This is how the cityscape should be, i took this at the same place of Sunday´s photo one week ago. Here blue wins over yellow but reality is still yellow and brown!
Another day and more fires, here we are paying the mistakes made with forests in last decades.
Answering to some of your questions the reasons for this are every possible reason, everything goes wrong and looks like Galicia in Spain is in bad luck too with fires.
Let's see if this stops soon. This photo, like yesterday, is from Ribeira on saturday.
Every summer it's the same sadness, fires all over the country and this weekend we had fires in the region, this photo should have been a beautiful blue sky.
Fires in Portugal have destroyed more than a fifth of the country's forests in the past decade, when will this stop!

I don't know how many liters of water i drank today, it's so hot and this kind of oasis are always welcome.
When i was a little kid i loved to play this great game, now i'm a big kid and still like it!
After nowhere man said maybe the inventor was from Porto i got curious and found some interesting facts on google:
-The inventor is from Spain(pt) or France and / or Germany to others.
-It's amazing what some do with this game!
-It's amazing what people do with some parts of this game!
-There is a version with humans!
...
This never ends!

Hot days are back and sunset freshness is a pleasure.

This photo is from Massarelos-campo de rou but this cityscape can be found all over the country, more color, less color, more granite, less granite...
Could this street be found in your city?
ps:
Janina,

Yaninha,

I just arrived home and on my way i passed in N.S. da Saúde festivity to bought this traditional snack found in every festivity from south to north of the country.
Hey! Don't look like that because i already eat them, sorry!
When i was a kid my dream was to be a doctor, but not with a mustachio like this!
I don't have a favourite place, this is in Jardins do Palácio de Cristal where i go lots of times with my daughter.

About Me, Porto and this blog
Hello, my name is Nuno Gonçalves and since i was born in 1975 i never tought one day i would be living in Porto but that happened in 2000 when i moved here to finish my studies and start working as software developer.
Sometimes the unexpected is good and this was the case because i assume before living here i didn't know how intense and great is to live on this historical city with a 1,000-year history. Meanwhile I have married, have a lovely daughter and settled downtown with no plans to move out. Since i'm not native my interest by Porto history has been always present from the 1st day i move, now is even more interesting because of this blog i pay more attention with some details that are now converted to big issues. The idea of starting PortoDailyPhoto was at the moment i look at LondonDailyPhoto by Ham and found it a great way share my long walks and use my compact camera, i'm a complete amateur who have bought a small camera just to take some pictures to my family and now i take shots of everything and sometimes i remember my family!
