That's what i need today after a very busy week. Even thought i'm showing a sea photo my route is to the mountains. Have an ultra nice weekend my friends.
It's raining so much..., but i'm going to post this sunny 19th century scene taked some days ago when umbrellas were not one of my indispensable objects when leaving home.
In the past you would have to pay to get in, now its free but i read somewhere that the city council is thinking about recovering this "great" idea, i hope this is just a joke.
We were all searching for something and i couldn't resist posting this photo because i always laugh when i see the pose of laica, the dog on the right. This place looks quiet but behind the trees there is a highway full of traffic jams.
Seconds before another travel along Douro river, even after a thousand trips i love it like if it were the first one, i just love trains, old trains, and this Douro path is one of the prettiest in the world.
After Rudy's requirement about more food photos i decided to show this photo about a typical leading dish of Portuguese cuisine, when i took this shot this "feijoada" was something that was about to disappear soon, i can assure you this food is history now, vanished forever with the precious help of a great red wine from Douro:)
Now check what is about to disappear soon around the world:
Hello, my name is Nuno Gonçalves and since i was born in 1975 i never tought one day i would be living in Porto but that happened in 2000 when i moved here to finish my studies and start working as software developer.
Sometimes the unexpected is good and this was the case because i assume before living here i didn't know how intense and great is to live on this historical city with a 1,000-year history.
Meanwhile I have married, have a lovely daughter and settled downtown with no plans to move out. Since i'm not native my interest by Porto history has been always present from the 1st day i move, now is even more interesting because of this blog i pay more attention with some details that are now converted to big issues.
The idea of starting PortoDailyPhoto was at the moment i look at LondonDailyPhoto by Ham and found it a great way share my long walks and use my compact camera, i'm a complete amateur who have bought a small camera just to take some pictures to my family and now i take shots of everything and sometimes i remember my family!
