Daily photos from Porto/Oporto
I posted this because my body wanted, i just like this wall cutting the houses, tiles from usual houses in a shot taked from the inside of a cemetary (cemitério da Lapa) with a beutiful blue sky.
Solar do Vinho do Porto inside from outside.
One of the wonders in this city is this balcony in Solar do Vinho do Porto, here you can taste more then 200 different types and brands of Port Wine, tomorrow you'll see the Solar inside.
My recommendation for this weekend is to sing on this acoustic shell, no need of microphones just your voice and pure physics. This stairs are waiting for you in Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, just alert me so i can run away for a safe place for ears.
More photos from this acoustic shell.
Enjoy the weekend and all next days;)
It is not my intention to overload any particular theme but i can't resist to publish this seat from Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, i love this gardens and walk there very often this way i have lots of great photos from there and it's very hard not put them all here.
At Ribeira is possible to make a ribeiraminutephoto because all houses have infinite beauty and history. At this time you already notice that this is my favorite zone in Porto.
When walking in ribeira we should always look up, beauty is on every direction, but attention with sea gulls if they are on after lunch time!
This is something i didn't know the existence but it seems to have a lot of professionals racing with this mini toys on the most high level of competition with mechanics, tools, ... I got so impressed with this slot races and that is why i post this photos, is not related with the city but it's an event.
This is an hot corner with lots of cars going out of track and that is why all corners had a guy to put the car again on track.
Funny fact, i only saw a couple of real kids, it seems this is a sport for adults:)
This race was in Palacio de Cristal
Santo Ildefonso church closer and behind the gates.
This museum is real great to photograph, has elegance from every angle but today i let one shot from 90 degrees angle.
Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art
For those who love tiles Porto has to be visited, it's very common specially on churches where they are true art and from different eras. This one is Santo Ildefonso church, even thought this church is from 1739 tiles are from 1932. I used cinema Batalha on the right to complicate this photo with curves, sorry but it's a phase with curves on my mind.
Who doesn´t like curves, this are from Jardins do Palácio de Cristal where there are some variations of this seats and with time they will all rest on this blog.
Today i saw this monument from Kuala Lumpur and decided to post this one located at Praça Carlos Alberto, this monument is to remember those who died in WWI. With all this monuments around the world and nations keep doing the same mistakes reducing humans life to numbers, it as been like this over the centuries and by the current conflits future is not very promissing.
This facade in Santa Catarina street caught my attention on my night walk, i'm still learning how to store light inside memory cards for future consults and views.
...waiting for you, at avenida Montevideu.
... of Porto from Lavadores beach.
ps:Attention, this is not Sainte Maxime funny caption, there are no rocks like this over there!
Have a nice weekend my friends.
Rua de Santa Catarina as lots of collars to sell to all the beautiful womens in the world passing there, made with the best polyethylene terephthalate and glamorous design only have the usual problem with pieces of art, the price! It's better for you to start saving money to buy this very expensive jewellery.
In our society there will be always privileged people, and on pigeons society it's the same. In this photo from Praça dos Leões we can see King and Queen of pigeons on the throne refreshing their bodys.
This is where i ended my day, it's very rare but sometimes i need this, just me and the ocean.
I was watching a documentary about Maradona and thought about how hard should be dealing with millions expecting us to be like gods when we all born, live and die. But since this is not a psycoblog i'm finished with this talk, let me show you most famous tower in Porto(Clérigos Church), it can't get rid of this searchlights too!

Fear, panic and anxious about your dental treatment? I don't have that problems but cutting my hair was always something horrible to me (i know, it's freak and so what?! I prefer my problem:)) but this old barber style is very attractive now and forever, always gives very intense photos and i liked a lot of my reflection taking this one.
I could choose many transport types but today my option was walking to get fresh air,
i am at Infante bridge(the newest), the train is on S. João bridge with the deactivated Maria Pia bridge on the middle.
Some time ago i said rarely see quality graffiti, wrong, i've been walking with my omnidirectional antennas on max attention and found a lot of good work and in the right places.
On the left we can read "i rent" where is "alugo".
It's cheaper to buy a house using bank loan then rent one, for example i pay 350€ to the bank every month but i have neighbours paying rents of 500€ and more, so we all buy unless if we have to change the address constantly.
Today i found a new passion in photography(i'm really newbie:)), every day i pass on this factory on ruins and today i decided to try some photos, just as an experience, and love the results. From now on i'll be a ruins hunter, playing with light on this environments is a true challenge my friends!
Another shot here of the side room, this factory is at the corner of rua da alegria with rua do Prof. Correia de Araújo

This blog has been real fun to me, i don't feel tied or having a lack of ideas so here i am on my 100st post and with a sea of photos to bring. To celebrate i changed my template, i'm waiting for your opinion.
This are miniatures of ancient stone granary, "espigueiros" as we call them, since it is not usual in the city i can only show you real ones from my last trip to Lindoso, magical village at Gêres. I know they exist in France, Spain and Portugal and in your country, how are they?
Congrats to all Portuguese players, you're the best in the world;)
Good luck to France and Italy
As you should know best restaurant in town is my house so i don't have dinner out much often, about this restaurant i can only say two things, great view over Porto and his window glass is great for a photo filter:)
After saturday madness i need peace..., and found it at jardim das virtudes.
HeHeHe, sorry but can't remember nothing to say now, just hihihi!
I didn't post a photo from a typical supermarket because i think they are all the same everywhere, instead i post this photo from mercado do bolhão, our unique traditional market who fights everyday precisely because the huge amount of supermarkets, hipermarkets, big shopping centers. It would be very sad if we loose this lovely atmosphere.
Last two posts are from this market too.

About Me, Porto and this blog
Hello, my name is Nuno Gonçalves and since i was born in 1975 i never tought one day i would be living in Porto but that happened in 2000 when i moved here to finish my studies and start working as software developer.
Sometimes the unexpected is good and this was the case because i assume before living here i didn't know how intense and great is to live on this historical city with a 1,000-year history. Meanwhile I have married, have a lovely daughter and settled downtown with no plans to move out. Since i'm not native my interest by Porto history has been always present from the 1st day i move, now is even more interesting because of this blog i pay more attention with some details that are now converted to big issues. The idea of starting PortoDailyPhoto was at the moment i look at LondonDailyPhoto by Ham and found it a great way share my long walks and use my compact camera, i'm a complete amateur who have bought a small camera just to take some pictures to my family and now i take shots of everything and sometimes i remember my family!
